Kauai part 2

We finally felt like we hit our stride on vacation today, we dusted off the camera and broke out the snorkeling gear today. Being that it was Karin's birthday we all slept in until 8:00am. How that happened I do not know, it must be the humid tropical air or something. Mom's birthday present was a 80 minute massage on the beach next door at the Marriott in a cabana. After an hour and half of pure relaxation, Mom came back renewed and refreshed. I got off easy this year, after walking around the grounds of the Marriott she was convinced that I had bought us a time-share there. Don't we wish!

It's still the rainy season on Kauai but Poipu is being spared the worst of it, every hour or so during the day there will be a tropical shower the leaves you looking around for the cats and dogs because you could swear that was what should be falling out of the sky next. That's the bad part, the good part is that they never last very long and the sun pops out to warm you back up, and if your are lucky you get to see a rainbow.

I trudged over the the cove next door and snorkeled around this afternoon while Madelyn took a nap on Mom near the beach, we were both surprised that she decided to do this. Normally we time our outings with a car ride to get her naps in but perhaps this was her present to Mom today. We topped the day off with a trip to the Brick Oven Pizza, yummmy.

Yes we both wish that we had enough frequent-flyer miles to have flown Sandi out here with us :)
